  • What I do is get a jug of distilled water quickly submerge it jiggle it about for 30 seconds take it out blow it off ith compressed air put it in the sun to dry for the day then WD 40 the hell out of it LESS the line blow it off again with compressed air and I NEVER have issues I surf fish and am constantly getting my reels soaked in salt water from waves It works trust me been doing this for 7 years shimano avet penn

  • no need to use grease at all ?? I want to start use levelwind reel , never used one , it is why im asking =/ ppls told me a lot of crap like buy 52$ sentetic grease and use to not let water come in =/

  • You literally did nothing except spray with water, pour oil on the exterior, and dry it off. You need to service the reel bud….

  • Stand your rigs in the shower and give them a 10 minute gentle HOT shower. Allow to dry, Give them a wipe-down with dry cloth and then a light lubricant. Loosen the drags.
